Uzbekistan is where most of our current international hiring sits — large EPC and infrastructure projects in Tashkent and Karakalpakstan that need experienced HSE, logistics and engineering people, often at short notice.

What you should know before you apply
Work permits
You do not apply for the permit yourself. The employer applies for it, and the employer must itself hold a licence to employ foreign nationals. Expect roughly 15–30 business days for the permit, plus a further one to two weeks for the visa. The E-type work visa is typically issued for one year and is renewable.
A labour-market test usually applies — the employer has to show the role could not reasonably be filled locally. Two common exemptions: candidates paid above roughly USD 60,000 a year can qualify as Highly Qualified Specialists, and staff of IT Park resident companies use the separate IT-Visa route. Both are considerably faster.
Language
Uzbek and Russian are the working languages of the country; Russian is what you will actually hear on most industrial sites. On international EPC projects the project language is English, and expatriate technical staff are generally hired on English alone. Russian is an advantage, not a requirement, for the roles we handle.
What an EPC project posting really involves
Be realistic about this. Sites in Karakalpakstan are remote — Nukus is a long way from Tashkent, and further still from anywhere you would call home. Expect camp or company accommodation, a rotation pattern rather than a normal working week, long days during peak construction, and a fixed-term contract tied to the project schedule rather than an open-ended one. Employers usually cover flights, accommodation and local transport; confirm medical cover and demobilisation terms in writing before you sign.
Money
Expatriate packages on these projects are usually quoted net of local tax, with accommodation and flights on top. Compare offers on the total package, not the headline figure — a lower base with camp accommodation and paid rotations frequently beats a higher base without them.
Please note: immigration and labour rules change. Treat this page as orientation, not legal advice. Hirebee will confirm the current requirements for your specific role before you commit to anything.
